Little Neck Orthodontist
An uneven bite and crooked teeth are much more than just a cosmetic problem, malocclusions can cause serious repercussions on one’s ability to eat, speak, have healthy strong teeth, maintain jaw and facial structure, and cause self-esteem issues. Luckily most malocclusions and other teeth and bite problems can be corrected through orthodontics. Our
Little Neck orthodontist at Magic Touch Orthodontist has been helping straighten the community’s teeth and bite for over 20 years. Our office is equipped with the latest in orthodontic technology and equipment but our real edge is the caring and compassion of our whole staff, we treat you and your child with respect and look after your every concern. Our practice takes pride in keeping you informed of the progress during each phase of the treatment.
One innovative approach that our
Little Neck orthodontist has to fix malocclusions is the use of aligners. Aligners are an alternative to braces for many patients, they are clear plastic trays that fit snuggly over the teeth and gently push the teeth into their proper position. Our practice uses the Invisalign aligner system. Unlike braces, which place brackets on the teeth and arch wires between the brackets aligners do not bond anything directly to the teeth, so there is no metal grill effect. The Invisalign aligners are virtually invisible so no one can tell you are wearing an orthodontic appliance. Our doctor takes 3-D images of your teeth and sends them to Invisalign who uses them to make a series of aligners. Each aligner is worn for two weeks and then replaced by the next one in the series until all the aligners have been used and the treatment is completed. There are between 13 -48 aligners in the series depending on the individual patient. Aside from invisibility Invisalign aligners have an advantage over traditional braces in that they can be removed for meals and for teeth brushing/flossing, this means that users can eat almost anything without fear of bending wires or loosening brackets, which often happens with braces. Teeth cleaning is also much more effective with Invisalign’s removable aligners.
For younger patients or those that are not able to benefit from the Invisalign system our
Little Neck Orthodontist offers traditional wire braces, which are still the most often used orthodontic treatment by far. These braced are extremely effective in treating most orthodontic problems, especially when coupled with the use of orthodontic appliances such as headgear, palate spreaders and retainers. Our practice also offers certain patients clear ceramic braces that use either clear or tooth-colored brackets and clear plastic arch wires that make the treatment almost invisible. So, make an appointment to have our doctor evaluate your bite to see which orthodontic treatment has the magic touch for you.
